July 9th Show Cancelled

To Our Morningside Stables Family and Outside Riders,

We have made the decision to cancel our July 9th Hunter Jumper show. Our decision comes after careful consideration to respect the needs of our owners, Stephanie and Derek. Stephanie will undergo surgery and possibly continued treatment for her recent breast cancer diagnosis. Anyone who has attended one show would be able to attest to the involvement Stephanie has to make our shows great. Even the smallest details are not overlooked and are often corrected by Stephanie herself. We feel it’s important for her and her family to focus on their needs during this time. We are grateful to share that her prognosis is good though her journey to remission will not be easy. We hope you can understand and appreciate the decision we have collectively made.

In lieu of the show we will be offering two “Saturday Night Heights” sessions at Columbia Horse Center in July and August. Courses from the cancelled June and July show will be set up for schooling from 4pm to 9pm. More details to come next week. We will also be offering new class options for our October show. Proceeds from those classes will go to a breast cancer charity of Stephanie’s choice.

We apologize for the disruption this may cause your show season. Our focus now is on family and healing but we are looking forward to finishing off our series this fall.
