Before your lesson

All new riders must wear hard-soled shoes or boots and long pants. Long hair needs to be tied back. Helmets will be provided if student does not have their own
Please keep your furry friends at home. While we love dogs, our liability insurance requires that they remain off Morningside premises for safety purposes
Riders continuing beyond 5 weeks will be encouraged to purchase proper riding attire: jodhpur pants/breeches, riding boots, gloves, and an ASTM/SEI certified helmet. We can provide suggestions for local tack shops and brands/sizes if requested
Riders under the age of 18 must not be left unattended without prior consent from instructor
Cancellation/lateness policy
Students arriving late will have that time deducted from their lesson. Significant tardiness results in lesson cancellation
All lessons must be paid for prior to time of lesson. More than 2 lessons past due will be charged a $35 late fee.
Lessons are non-refundable, but may be applied to camp or other Morningside Stables activities.
Cancellations within 12 hours of the lesson are required to pay for their riding lesson. A rider may be exempt from the cancellation fee at the manager's discretion if the cancellation is due to an emergency or unforeseen circumstance.
Students arriving late will have that time deducted from their lesson. Significant tardiness results in lesson cancellation. If possible, we will reschedule lessons on short notice but we cannot guarantee any accommodation.
Riders are allowed one cancellation per five lessons. Cancellations due to holidays, horse shows, inclement weather, or instructor cancellations do not count as rider cancellations. Students with more than one cancellation per 5 lessons are required to make up the lesson, in an additional timeslot, within two weeks that the lesson package has expired. Please schedule make-up lessons with the office in person or by email. The rider may be exempt from this policy for an emergency or unforeseen circumstance.
Morningside Stables has the right to remove riders from our program who regularly cancel lessons, not due to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.
Please remember if you don't show up for your lesson, your instructor still did. In the event that we need to cancel due to an emergency situation, serious illness, weather or other reason, your prepaid lesson credit will be applied to your next scheduled lesson.
More exciting opportunities
We provide a wide variety of exciting and challenging opportunities for our students who are looking to advance beyond weekly lessons.
Showing
Lesson students interested in showing have many opportunities to attend off-site shows all over the region. We take our students to Hunter/Jumper, Equitation, and Eventing competitions as well as clinics and schooling opportunities.
Leasing
Looking for more riding time and responsibility, but not ready to purchase a horse? Leasing is a wonderful opportunity to ride more often and learn more about horse care without the stress of ownership!
Sales
Many of our students have chosen to purchase their horses directly from our roster of wonderful school horses. While we do not focus on horse sales, we do occasionally have horses for sale. Please inquire if interested.
